Tracking

Several members of Club Corvette of Connecticut track their Corvettes frequently during the Spring and Fall. Many club members attend to spectate, go for ride-alongs, participate in free parade laps, have lunch together and show their support. You don’t need to track your car at all to enjoy the fun.

Tracking is not racing; it is simply driving your car on a race track in a controlled environment. You drive as fast as you feel comfortable. The events are hosted by MassTuning. Safety is the number one priority. No track experience is needed. There is a novice class for beginners and free in-car instructors are available for every track session. Spectators and participants are allowed to ride along in the passenger seat with an instructor or with us for free. We typically rent a garage in the pits that serves as our home base. If you are trying tracking for the first time, we will assist and guide you throughout the entire day.

If you would just like to try tracking for just one 25 minute session, it will cost $50 cash and requires you to rent a helmet at the track for $25. You will go out in the novice class with an in-car driving instructor in your passenger seat. You only have to drive as fast as you feel comfortable and you can pull into the pits anytime. Please read your owner’s manual for any required tracking preparations. Feel free to ask questions about tracking preparations. Disclaimer: Auto insurance does not cover damage that occurs on racetracks. You can purchase one-day track insurance on your phone, on the morning of our track day. Each season, more members tried tracking their cars for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Track days are held at several race tracks in the Northeast. Most track days are held at Lime Rock Park, Thompson Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Pocono Raceway, Monticello Motor Club, and New York Safety Track. A Track Day Schedule is posted monthly in our newsletter.

Come and join the fun! If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
